Below are the three areas of fulfillment we always recommend you be mindful of...

Three Key Areas of Fulfillment for your Canine, Plus More to Consider...

Love

Love is the foundation of your relationship with your dog(s). The expression of love can come in many forms. Whether it is verbal praise, playing,  feeding time, treats ect. They all can relate to an expression of your love.

However, what people often don’t think about is the kind of love you share when you take your dog on a nice satisfying walk or run. Or the love you give as a owner when you take the time and effort to be a great leader to your dog, day to day.

So it’s important to be mindful of how consistent and structured exercise is vital for their health. Also how enforcing rules and limitations on a consistent basis is crucial for their psychology and the equation for a more loving relationship.

In conclusion, don’t forget about about our responsibility in the relationship to pay back in full all the love we enjoy getting from our dogs. At the same time staying balanced and aware of all their needs for their best quality of life.

Leadership

In the human world our leaders are our parents or guardians. Without their guidance in our developing years and even into our adult years we can get into situations where we lack knowledge or guidance, make mistakes and miss out on potential success.

Leading your dog and leading a human can be totally different. But in my opinion they do share something in common. That is simply there is a human in a leadership position exercising authority.

So please be mindful of your demeanor when you discipline or disagree with a negative behavior from your dog. As a canine in a world led by humans they really need our consistent guidance to navigate away from trouble and how we address their behaviors that we disagree with will reflect in your dogs behavior either positively or negatively.

We need to learn the best way to enforce rules when necessary. To me the foundation is to be calm and confident. All you need is to tap into your ability to be calm and I can give you the confidence you need through the implementation of a thoughtful strategy to address whatever negative behavior you are dealing with. In my opinion much success in leading dogs comes from learning to address or discipline your dog without negative emotion and instead with calmness and confidence.

Exercise

When dogs have an excess of energy it only makes sense it has to be released from their body at some point. Unfortunately for us this can manifest in general hyperactive behavior, chewing or destroying things, excessive barking or any other number of negative behaviors can develop. This is why mental and physical stimulation is crucial for their well being and our sanity.

To me disciplining a dog can always be avoided or diminished by providing exercise that is consistent and challenging for their energy level. Hence goes the saying a happy dog is a tired dog.

So next time you find yourself being an enforcer just consider the wonders of what a tired dog can be with good exercise that is challenging and structured. Challenging in length and intensity and structured with rules like no pulling, or general misbehaving.

All in all exercise is a great medication to give your dog… it’s tested and proven to help to dramatically diminish negative behavior.
